Go from guessing to actually knowing what’s wrong with your patients!
This module gives you a unique opportunity to look directly into muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, bursae and other structures to make more accurate diagnoses and perform ultrasound diagnostics dynamically.
Together with a thorough history and orthopedic testing, clinical ultrasound diagnostics will help you set a new standard in diagnostics. This will give you objective answers, so you can be confident in your assessments and improve the treatment of your patients.
We are proud to offer this module as part of our education, giving you a unique opportunity to learn the diagnostics of the future. The in-depth content of the module will equip you with advanced skills and a broad understanding of ultrasound diagnostics.
What will you learn in this module?
Explore the anatomy and physiology of the musculoskeletal system in depth, with a special focus on structures commonly involved in injuries and pathologies.
• Understanding of the physics of ultrasound and how different tissue types affect the ultrasound signal.
• Use of high frequency transducers to identify and evaluate various anatomical structures.
• Practical training in scanning muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints in a precise and effective manner.
Identify and evaluate common musculoskeletal injuries and pathologies through ultrasound diagnostics.
• Tendon injuries: Tendinopathy, ruptures, calcifications.
• Muscle injuries: Strains, ruptures, myositis.
• Ligament injuries: Sprains, ruptures.
• Bursitis, calcifications.
• Nerve injuries: Entrapment syndromes.
• Ligaments: Ruptures, degenerative changes.
• Bone surface analysis: Fractures, stress fractures, degenerative changes.
Learn how to perform dynamic ultrasound diagnostics to evaluate joint mobility and muscle function in real time.
Integrate ultrasound findings with patient history and orthopedic tests to make better-informed clinical decisions.
Effective documentation of ultrasound findings and formulation of accurate reports for referral to specialists.
• Understand the ethical aspects of ultrasound diagnostics and ensure patient safety through good procedures.
